New York, N.Y. – July 28, 2009 – Richmond Hood Company (RHC), a boutique Staten Island, New York based urban action sports shop calls all NYC skating enthusiast to Skate Down to Stapletown. This fun-filled day of free outdoor skating activities will take place on Staten Island’s historic Van Duzer Street between Beach and Wright Streets on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.

“At Richmond Hood Company we not only offer unique fashionable styles which creatively fuse the Hip-Hop, inner city Skate &amp; Bike communities, but we are committed to providing local riders a place to showcase and celebrate their unique talents”, explained Tariq Zaid, Manager of Richmond Hood Company.

Rain or shine, the day will be packed with various activities that include skate sessions; demonstrations held by members of the local skate community; Manny, Ollie and Best Trick contests will be held for chances to win free footwear by DC Shoes, active wear by Downside Up, drinks provided by RHC and PowerAde and much more.

“DC Shoes is committed to supporting small business and the skating community”, explained Jefferson Pang, legendary NYC skater and Brand Manager for DC Shoes. “When we were invited to partner with RHC in its first annual Skate Down to Stapletown, it just made perfect sense, added Mr. Pang.

All skating enthusiast, beginners and experts alike, are invited to skate down and showcase their talent. The days activities will run as follows:

•	5:00pm – 6:00pm		Manny Contest 
o	Open jam for 30 min, top 5 skate for 15 min.

•	6:00pm – 7:00pm		Ledge Contest
o	Open jam for 30 min, top 5 skate for 15 min.

•	7:00pm –8:00pm		High Ollie Contest
o	Open jam, 3 tries per high. Miss 3 and you’ll be eliminated.
