It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that today’s media landscape is awash with an excess of options, both bad and good. The publications doing the work (or attempting to) are varied yet valid, until proven otherwise. There is a lot of mediocre content in the universe of the world wide web, but the good stuff exists! So “how to break through” is the epicenter of discussion in the broader world of media. Skateboarding’s pocket of this world is no exception to the conundrum.
Here at Skateboards.com, we aim to facilitate conversation and community, not just through our Skatepark Finder, Shop Directory and Discussion Forum; but also via our ongoing Blog. Whether it be cool brands, new products, rad nonprofits, contests or video premieres, we highlight what’s fresh in skateboarding. You will also find useful resources for beginners about how to assemble a board, what types or sizes of products to use, and lots of other know-how from our own core skateboarders.
We have never and will never do any of this for accolades, but every now and then it is nice to be acknowledged. It has been a while since we’ve seen listicle-style coverage of the best skateboarding media outlets. And it was an honor to be put side-by-side with establishments in skating, like Thrasher Magazine, Grey Skateboard Magazine and Primitive Skateboarding.
