Many skateboard companies come, and almost as many go. Some make an impression, but much fewer leave behind any lasting impact. Although skateboarding needs creative expression from within, not all who try to “start a company” can succeed in the ways that they set out to.
That being said, it is refreshing to see a new company find success in our skateboarding culture that can so often be judgmental or guarded in its practice. One of our recent favorites is Lovesick Skateboards. Lovesick was started by Aleks Lewandowski, ex-Deathwish filmer & editor and art connoisseur.
Aleks has made a great run at building a company, with a killer team & art direction around it as well. The board graphics are some of our favorites, from its Happy Birthday classic to its iconic Big Mouth Strikes Again. Their team is an eccentric bunch of our favorite skaters’ favorite skaters, including Justin Strubing & Adrian Adrid.
But maybe most importantly, their videos are some of the funnest to watch from this past year. And we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
If you haven’t seen it yet, give “Enfermo De Amor” a watch.
